The academic year 2025-2026 marks a special and significant milestone in the history of Holy Trinity Regional Major Seminary, as it celebrates 40 years of being a home of faith, learning and dedication. It was founded by Most Rev. Symphorian Keeprath, the first Bishop of Jalandhar in 1985, with the mission of nurturing committed and compassionate men and women as ministers for the Church. Since then, the seminary has steadfastly upheld the rich traditions of Catholic formation while preparing its seminarians and religious women to meet the pastoral needs of a rapidly changing society. Over the past four decades, the Seminary has formed priests and sisters – spiritual men and women grounded in prayer, strengthened by community life, and equipped with theological, pastoral and human maturity.

At present, our Institute is blessed with 64 seminarians from 15 Dioceses and Religious Congregations, of whom 50 are resident seminarians who continue to grow in wisdom, character and spiritual maturity. Alongside them are 14 day scholars whose presence and participation in most of the activities and programs of the seminary enriches the academic, cultural and formative environment. The dedicated team of 39 professors, including 8 resident faculty members, feel privileged to be part of their journey of faith, discernment and formation. Our Seminary has two resident Spiritual Guides who offer spiritual direction to the students and accompany them throughout their formation. And most importantly, the life and work of both staff and students are supported by 2 librarians and 12 domestic personnel responsible for reception, culinary services, agricultural work, housekeeping, maintenance and transportation.

Holy Trinity Regional Major Seminary is dedicated to forming clergy and religious grounded in the disciplines of philosophy and theology. Rigorous philosophical and theological studies prepare students to engage the Church’s intellectual, theological and spiritual traditions with depth and clarity. Complemented by a comprehensive pastoral training, this formation equips them with the knowledge and skills necessary for faithful and compassionate service to the People of God. Guided by a learned and committed faculty, the seminary fosters an environment where reason and faith flourish, shaping men and women to become Christ-centered ministers for the contemporary Church and world.
