A significant and joyous event took place at St. Mary’s Cathedral Church in Jalandhar on August 10, 2024, as Br. Nilam OFM Cap., Br. Rinku Thomas, Br. Vargas Singh, Br. Samue Masih and Br. Sahil Hans were conferred the diaconate by Bishop Agnelo Ruffino Gracias, the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Jalandhar, during a solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist.

The ordination ceremony was a deeply spiritual occasion, marked by prayer, worship, and the conferral of blessings as the seminarians were welcomed into their new roles of service. The church was filled with family, friends, and members of the faith community who gathered to support and celebrate this important milestone in the lives of the newly ordained deacons.

During his homily, Fr. Peter Hans emphasized the sacred responsibilities of the diaconate and encouraged the new deacons to serve with humility, compassion, and dedication. The celebration continued with a fellowship meal, symbolizing unity and gratitude for the blessings of the day.

Following their ordination, the deacons would be engaged in the pastoral ministry, continuing their journey of faith and service in preparation for future priestly ordination.
